Is it still called van life if you live in a retired ambulance? Meet my baby, she doesn't yet have a name, but I'm calling her the Kambulance. I found her on Craigslist, flew from Seattle to Denver, and had my brother help me pick her up.
She's a bright lime 1996 Ford E350 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel who roars like the jungle cat she is. So far, we've traveled together between Arkansas and California through snow-covered mountains and high desert sunsets. We're currently calling Mammoth Lakes, CA home while I work as a lift operator on the slopes of Mammoth Mountain for the remainder of the season.
The Kambulance hates the cold and only starts by using starter fluid these days, a problem we've yet to pinpoint the cause of for repairs, but she gets me up the mountain every day and shields me from blizzard winds and multiple feet of snow on starless nights.
